Given 23 square metres to fit a commercial kitchen and customer seating/waiting area into proved a tough ask. However, it was decided that these restraints would be used as a positive and the concept was based around the idea that the customers would be invited to 'eat in our kitchen.' Very little seperates the customers from the staff and the action that takes place in a frenetic lunchtime at the original Sataybar. The recycled Australian timber barriers contrast the traditional Indonesian motifs and street scene photography. The concrete and exposed brickwork maintain the street stall atmosphere.
